Mini Blog Post — Resting Under the Sky

This afternoon gifted me something I didn’t realise I needed quite so much — stillness.

After a very busy few weeks, I found myself lying on the grass beneath the shade of my tree, watching clouds drift lazily across the sky and birds weaving their way overhead. At one point, I even spotted the nearly quarter moon, graceful and quiet, already making its journey across the afternoon sky.

The soundtrack was simple: birdsong, buzzing bees and the occasional distant vehicle passing by. No rushing. No scrolling. No multitasking. Just being.

I honestly couldn’t remember the last time I had truly stopped and done absolutely nothing. So, much to the dogs’ amusement, that’s exactly what I did. I lay there for over an hour — held by the earth, warmed by the sun, listening to the sounds of my garden and allowing myself to simply exist within the moment.

And something shifted.

I felt more grounded. A little softer around the edges. A little more hopeful. Recharged in a way that doesn’t come from caffeine or productivity, but from quiet connection — to nature, to breath, to the body and to the present moment.

As the galloping horse of 2026 continues to charge us through the year at pace, perhaps this bank holiday weekend is an invitation for all of us to pause where we can. To step outside. To feel the warmth on our skin. To reconnect with the natural world and allow it to gently restore our bodies, minds and souls.

Sometimes rest does not need to be elaborate.
Sometimes it simply begins with lying on the grass and looking up at the sky.

I hope you all have a very lovely, very sunny and very restful long weekend. Don’t forget to Pause. Breathe and Restore. x
